Do you need to paint the top and bottom of a door? I have never once spray the top and bottom of a metal door as it does not affect the warranty and you cannot see it either. On a wood door the warranty is void if not coated especially if it is stain and lacquer. We always stain and lacquer top and bottom for warranty purposes even though you cannot see it.
