A deep-well roller tray…or a paint bucket and grid. The deeper your paint tray, the less time you waste refilling it with paint. Buy disposable paint tray liners, too-they save you from having to clean out your tray.
Or do what many pros do and skip the tray entirely-instead, dip your roller directly into a bucket of paint. If you opt for this bucket method, purchase a five-gallon bucket large enough to fit a roller and also purchase a “paint roller grid.” Hang this grid inside of the paint bucket and roll your roller along the grid to remove excess paint as you would on the incline section of a paint tray.
